Lizzie Robinson Jenkins has encompassed several roles throughout her lifetime. She is an educator, an activist, and a prominent advocate for social justice and equality. As the founder of the Rosewood Foundation, she has dedicated her life to ensuring that people never forget the true legacy of Rosewood. She attended Archer Negro High School and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1957. After high school, Mrs. Jenkins earned her elementary education degree from Florida Memorial College in 1961 and received her MS in 1978 from Nova University. Mrs. Jenkins also was Professional Educator in Alachua County Public Schools for thirty-three years.
          Mrs. Jenkins' undying commitment to truth and liberation positioned her as "the voice" of those silenced in Rosewood – heinously and prematurely. Lizzie credits her mother and Aunt Mahulda Gussie Brown Carrier for who she is and her life's journey. Her lineage includes a long line of historians, history makers, and storytellers. Mrs. Jenkins embodies the sacred beauty and excellence of Rosewood. Undeniably, she has been and continues to be a human bridge between research and resources to provide factual accounts that connect her family to Rosewood.
          In her debut literary work, Lizzie's Rosewood Race takes her readers on a journey of truth, liberation, and sincere forgiveness. It's no wonder she was predestined to be "the voice" of Rosewood. Lizzie said it best, "I will share facts without prejudice, so I can help increase the knowledge of those who are unaware."
